Elementary Makerspace and the Curriculum Day: Everyone as Makers

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule and see who's attending!

Makerspaces have been popping up in schools and libraries around the country but most take place outside of the school day. What if Makerspace was part of the curriculum day so everyone could participate-students, teachers, parents, administrators? What if Makerspace was aligned to curriculum standards and still allowed the freedom to engineer, create and collaborate? What if this all happened at the elementary level? Can Makerspace be experienced this way? Come hear how our schools are 'making' it happen!

This is my first year creating a Makerspace. I am very excited about it but I have a lot to learn! I am trying to figure out how to best use my limited funds to purchase materials and looking for ideas to accumulate consumable materials for free.

We are 5th grade students in Wheeling School District. We are interested in science and technology. We also like to learn about drones and compare them.
