Our D219 Tech Leaders will discuss working in a 1:1 student help desk environment. They will explain their roles, help desk procedures, and customer service skills. They will discuss their involvement with the Digital Literacy Program and troubleshooting application issues with student peers. The Tech Leaders will demonstrate that a student led help desk is an imperative solution when it comes to a 1:1 mobile device environment when it comes to cost effectiveness as well as the ability to understand the students needs when device problems are brought in, as they are using the same devices in a similar manner daily.

Actively Learn is a digital platform that helps teachers engage their students in reading. Do your students struggle with learning unit vocabulary? Are you in search of a variety of technological tools designed to help your students retain vocabulary from past units? Then this workshop is for you! Specifically for World Language teachers, this is a problem we struggle with every year in every class. Therefore, this workshop is designed to present several activities that teach, practice, and maintain unit vocabulary. Activities on the iPad and online tools will be presented which can be used for both classroom and homework activities. As well, audience members will see how the Schoology platform can be incorporated into this focus. While this workshop derives from the experience of a World Language teacher, the content is not limited to foreign language teachers. All disciplines are welcome!
